Over the past week, many users have contacted Ledger Nano to report the following issue. Most of these users had either purchased a new Ledger or recently installed Ledger Live on their system.
When these users tried to install the Ledger Live app and recover or initialize their Ledger, they encountered the following error:
Ledger Nano observations show that this error message has only been observed on Windows versions, and none of the iPhone users have seen it.
The error description is as follows:
Failed to construct ‘URL’: Invalid URL
Users saw this after launching Ledger Live, mainly when they wanted to bring up their old Ledger, by selecting the option

Although the cause of this issue has not been fully identified, here are our suggested solutions:
- Be sure to update your ledger
- Uninstall or reinstall Ledger Live and reinstall it
- Be sure to install the latest version of LedgerLive. To do this, search for the phrase “Install Ledger Live” in Google enter the download page through the link of Ledgernano.net, and download and install the latest version of Ledger Live. Note that the file sources of this page will connect you to the original versions. Never download Ledger Live from similar sites.
- Use the original and latest versions of Windows
- If you have an active firewall or anti-filter, remove it
- Reset the system cache
- Preferably, install LedgerLive on a drive other than C
