You might be aware of the disaster had happened to Ledger during 2021 in the production of Ledger Nano X. I refer particularly to the huge problem around the defective battery of the Ledger Nano X product. This left Ledger with no solution other than changing the brand, logo, color of the packaging – to help them go out of this big issue. Everybody wonders what else has been done through this transition, if any, in addition to the new appearance of Ledger Nano X to solve the issue with the damaged batteries. Here we are going to discover those changes. To our knowledge, this is the first review being published to compare the Ledger Nano X model of 2022 with the Ledger Nano X model of 2021.

Now I am going to detail the changes made to model 2022
From an appearance point of view, there is two major difference between model 2022 and 2021
The packaging of 2022 is coming in Black while 2021 was having white box (okay, who cares?)
Ledger is using a new brand logo on this model. Which is a LEDGER between brackets. You can see it in the picture as below
Retail prices went up more than 25%. From 119 (for 2021 model) to 149 euros (for 2022 model). At first glance, this may not be appreciated by the cryptocurrency community
The new model (2022) has got Firmware 2.0 or higher. This is while the Old version of the ledger was coming with Firmware 1
I guess you may say, who cares about it as anyone can update the Firmware of 1 to 2 with no problem. This is indeed correct. But please be noted hardware that comes with firmware 2.0 is indeed the most updated and is the best fit also for the next coming firmware(s). This is more detailed in point 6
There are reports that the new model (2022) has got higher brightness compared to 2021. This is very difficult to present in a photo. But we have verified it with a visual inspection. In any case, we added a photo for consideration
Our inspection shows that the board of chipsets of model 2022 has got more complications compared to 2021. So it is not eventually the same. It will be further elaborated in a video
Last but not least, the model 2022 has got completely different battery connection between the battery and the board. In the old version 2021, you can see that there is plat (silver color) while for the 2022 model the connection is like a needle (goldish color). We believe this helps a more efficient connection between the battery and the board. The picture represents this better. Ledger reports that with the new model there is no more complaints about the battery. This still needs further verifications
